HURSTVILLE

OUR HISTORY
WHERE IT ALL STARTED..
In 1970 Pr Wayman and Nelda Mitchell moved to Prescott to take leadership of a small church that was struggling to survive. Not long after their arrival something powerful began to happen—God started transforming lives. A group of young hippies, completely different from the typical churchgoers, came to faith in Christ. As the congregation opened its doors and hearts to them, the Holy Spirit began to move in a miraculous way.

Burdened to reach more young people, Pastor Mitchell looked for diffferent
ways of evangelism and soon discovered the potential of a “coffee-house” style concert ministry. Their very first concert drew a crowd of over 200 young people, many of whom made decisions for Christ that night.
From that moment, a thriving outreach was born. Twice each week, local bands performed, new believers shared their testimonies, and the Gospel was preached clearly and boldly—resulting in countless lives changed by God’s power.
